Great idea, Enola! I was thinking about starting my blog. I know there are alot oа great mummy blogs in the UK already but I was thinking to specify the area of my future blog. For example, I'm the big fan of cooking. So maybe my blog will be about child nutrition.. What do you think?

Mine are too young for this, but we are considering it. My husband is Catholic (although we don't go to church) and we've been meaning to get our children baptised.

Faith schools generally have a better ethos and get much better results than non-faith schools.

My friend has two kids there and she's really happy with the school. A couple years ago they had some problem with the staffing and some kids had several teachers in one year. But other than that I've heard only good reviews.

I imagine you've already made a decision about Langdon school) If you so, do your kids like it there? Or if they didn't go there, what school did you choose? The only thing I know about Langdon in East Ham is that two kids were stabbed there in a fight. This would've been enough to scare ME off.

For Greenwich at least, you may find this "booklet" useful for primary school admissions:

Part way through it has a list of the various schools, how many applied (as has been mentioned, not necessarily as first preference) and crucially what the furthest distance admitted was, presumably once siblings/children in care etc have all been accounted for.

Some private nurseries let you take the 15 hours over two days so the top up isn't quite so high (DD2's nursery in Woolwich did this)

Personally I was really impressed with the school site and with the headteacher - I found her quite inspiring.

I understand that you have to live on one of the 'bird roads' to get in  Don't be put off by the fall from Outstanding to Good. This has been very typical and some Outstanding schools have fallen further. The way that schools are assessed has been changed over recent years so it is truly exceptional to be Outstanding.

I don't know, I heard some not really good comments about a teacher there. Couldn't say which one, but hey, that's one teacher. Doesn't mean they're all like that.

From what I heard the best primaries are super-selective. Langley gets amazing reviews as well as Newstead. Hayes or West Wickham also seem to be great, my cousins used to go there. But they are much cheaper than Langley of Newstead.

Can anyone help? I'm looking for Hill House vs Cameron House info. Anything from people who have kids there is very much appreciated. 

We may have to move to Islington next year so I am looking into schools in case we do move. Can anyone recommend something? I read good things about Highbury Grove and Highbury Fields schools. Does anyone have kids there? 

Does anyone have anything to say about this nursery? We live nearby so I'm thinking of putting my 9mo there. Their last Ofsted report is not good, but I read some more recent reviews and people say the situation is much better now. So I was wondering if there is anyone here who can shed some light. THX! 

We'd love to send our DS to St Mary's. We are practicing RCs and whilst we do attend church regularly we still worry about the strict weekly attendance for 3 years requirement. Would anyone have any advice on whether they think that getting a nursery place there will increase the chances of being offered a place at Reception level? The admissions process states that having a nursery place does not give priority or guarantee a Reception place, but I still wonder whether in practice it would increase our chances and therefore be worth applying for and moving DS from his current nursery if we get offered a place? 

I'm looking for reviews regarding their maternity ward. My sister just found out she's pregnant and we are looking inot the hospitals in her area, so any info is much appreciated! 

Their maternity ward was renovated. You should go and check it out yourself, they probably have open-doors days 

My sister is moving to Southwark due to her DH's work. They are looking for good areas to live and bring kids up. So it has to be safe, with good schools and clean parks. I don't know much about Southwark, all I know is that East Dulwich seams really nice. Can anyone share any info? 

Anyone has experience with maternity wards in these two? Any info would be much appreciated
