If you are pregnant and would like to come to Ealing Hospital to have your baby, you do not need a referral from your doctor. You can contact a midwife as soon as you find out that you are pregnant to speed up your access to maternity care. Midwives have the most knowledge and expertise to look after you throughout your pregnancy, during labour, and postnatally - early access can improve health outcomes. You can get an appointment by calling the maternity administration centre on (020) 8967 5870. Alternatively you can complete a self referral form provided on their website.
Antenatal admissions are seen through the labour ward and the decision to admit is made by either the midwife or medical staff. Following admission a midwifery and/or medical review will occur on a daily basis. The pregnant woman is discharged home when medically fit and with clear instructions on community midwifery follow-up antenatal care.
