The London Fertility Clinic can offer a comprehensive range of different
treatments from its location in the heart of London, and with the
capital's remarkable network of public transport these services are more
accessible then they would be anywhere else. Services at the clinic can
be broadly split into two criteria, investigative and assisted
conception. The former includes Andrology testing for male patients,
which would include an evaluation of sperm and semen, tests for women
will include blood tests to look into hormone levels and an examination
into the female reproductive tract. Assisted conception treatments are
quite well known in the UK, and largely due to the efforts of the LFC.
Surrogacy programmes are offered, as well as egg donation, storage, and
freezing. One of the early levels of assisted reproduction would be the
use of fertility drugs to induce ovulation followed by a schedule of
timed sexual intercourse. Failing that, depending on the nature of your
infertility (if the investigations conducted were able to establish the
cause) then one of the other assisted conception techniques would be
pursued, which would include, for example, ICSI, IVF, and IUI
treatments. IUI is a form of insemination also known as intrauterine
insemination, which can be a great course of action if a male partner is
impotent or suffers from erectile dysfunction. IVF, also known as in
vitro fertilisation, is a laboratory technique which takes an egg cell
and some sperm and getting the two to fertilise within a specialised
dish. ICSI is a variant of IVF in which a sperm cell is directly
injected into the egg cell. Surgical sperm retrieval, sperm freezing,
and sperm storage are all offered as assistance for men, and parents
have access to methods of examining an embryos health through
preimplantation genetic diagnosis and preimplantation genetic screening.
