Located within the historic walls of the Bank of England in Threadneedle Street, right in the heart of the City, this Museum explains the History of the Bank since its foundation in 1694 to the present day and its vital roles at the centre of the economy.

There’s something for everyone, with attractions including activity sheets for children of all ages, banknote jigsaws, a roller ball game, touch screens and the opportunity for some safe cracking! One of the Museum’s most popular exhibits allows visitors to take control of a virtual hot air balloon to learn about inflation.

The Museum is also the only place in the UK where you can handle a real gold bar, although, weighing 13kg, it will take many people by surprise!

The Museum runs especial events for all the family during school holidays, from storytellers to workshops, and it is a supporter of the Kids in Museums Manifesto. Check its website for details!
