Established in 1883 a SSI 71 links course which challenges the best of golfers. Bordering the Solent, it offers magnificent views for the golfer whilst searching for their ball in the prolific gorse which abounds. The nineteenth hole is a 1920's style building which overlooks the last green. Hayling Golf club has some of the best greens in the country and is well prepared by an active greens staff. Visitors and societies are welcome and green fees can be paid in the pro shop.

South Downs
Hayling is surrounded by beautiful countryside and the rolling hills of the South Downs are amongst the best of it. Take in the outdoor activities at Queen Elizabeth Country Park or use it as a starting point to join the Southdowns Way.

Take in Some History
The solent area is steeped in history, and has some spectacular historic sites that offer a day out for all the family - all within easy reach of Hayling Island. Our local favourite historic spots include Portchester Castle, Chichester Cathedral, Arundel, Southsea Castle and Fishbourne Roman Palace.

Visit a museum
Whilst Hayling doesn't yet have it's own museum, there are plenty within a short distance of the Island. Our favourites include: The RN Submarine Museum, The Charles Dickens Birthplace Museum, Havant Museum, D Day Museum, Royal Marines Museum, Tangmere Military Aviation Museum, and Portsmouth City Museum

Where to Stay

For information on Hotels, B&B's and camping on Hayling Island go to http://www.hayling.co.uk/accommodation/
Londonparents do strongly suggest you ring Funland before you set off on your family day out, just to make sure they are open and to confirm admission prices, there is nothing worse than disappointed kids in the back of your car after a long journey.
