Hospital and Birthing Centres

I'm looking for reviews regarding their maternity ward. My sister just found out she's pregnant and we are looking inot the hospitals in her area, so any info is much appreciated! 

Their maternity ward was renovated. You should go and check it out yourself, they probably have open-doors days 

Anyone has experience with maternity wards in these two? Any info would be much appreciated

The Harley Street Clinic Pediatric. Is it good? Has anyone ever tried their services? We have relatives that are not UK residents and they have a sick kid we would like to help with, I know NHS won't help in this case since the child is not a citizen. A friend recommended this clinic but she knows nothing about their pediatric ward. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'd go to Whittington if this option is available for you. Deffinitely not North Mid, I heard horror stories about the place. I gave birth in Whittington and it was a positive experience... 

I'm due to have my first in Sept. We live in Stanmore and I don't know which hospital to go for and don't know where to start in deciding. Any advice is welcome!

Try the independent midwives website, my sister used it to find her midwife. She gave birth at home 4 month ago, the midwife was great

Hi. It's been 2 yrs ago, but I'm pretty sure the midwives who worked there are still on staff.. well, all I can say is that was a good thing I got to the RLH, the staff at the maternity ward was just great... The food and overall postnatal care was not perfect though... 

Definitely NHS. Who of us can say she's 100% healthy and there won't be any surprises while delivering? I'm not sure such superwomen exist in our ecology... In NHS hospitals you can be sure you and your baby will be cared for if anything unpredictable happens, in birth centres I'm not so sure... 

Giving birth at home is the best choice I made. I delivered my first baby at home in a birthing pool.
I have such fantastic memories of the experience! I was nervous about how I would cope with the birth of my first child at home until I read about the benefits of water birth.
I had an amazing pain-free birth without the need for medical intervention or drugs.

Yeh, I can say UCH is one of the best at least according to my experience.  My labour didn't go smoothly and I am happy we were in hands of the good doctors of the UCH, I don't know how it all would turn out if not for them 

we just moved here, I'm 8 weeks in and don't know where to register. Royal Free, UCL, Whittington, or somewhere else? Any advice please

The midwives were determined I should have a natural delivery but after I’d  struggled for several hours a doctor appeared and suggested a section. The midwives said I could manage, and I was too scared and confused to offer an opinion. Eight hours later I was whisked off to surgery for an emergency section. I’ve always resented those extra eight hours of agony! The after care at the Royal Free was great though.

Can anyone recommend some good antenatal classes? Are they really neccessary after all? What do you think?

Does anyone have experience giving birth in Barkantine? It's my first baby, needs some advice. Thx
